Object alignment controls are located on the object align sheet of the properties panel. Click the blue separator bar labeled object align to open/close the sheet.

Objects are aligned to right/left guides set in the template. Bulletpoints and subbullets are aligned to the bulletpoint guides.

A vertical alignment tool: aligns the selected objects to equal vertical distance, following the distance between the two topmost objects in the selection.
